As part of its support to girls and women living in the Busuma refugee camp in Burundi, the Legal Refugee Center (LRC) distributed sanitary pads to vulnerable girls and women. More than 200 sanitary pads were distributed by LRC Busuma to help promote menstrual hygiene, dignity, and well-being among refugee women and girls.
The Legal Refugee Center (LRC) is seeking support to improve access to quality education for refugee children living in the Busuma refugee camp in Burundi. Through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education programs, LRC aims to equip children with critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills that will help them succeed in school and prepare for future opportunities. Support for educational materials, STEM learning kits, computers, teacher training, and child-friendly learning spaces would greatly contribute to empowering refugee children and building their resilience and future potential.
The Chairman of the Legal Refugee Center (LRC), Mr. Gaspard Atibu, conducted a field visit to refugee camps hosting Congolese refugees in Burundi to assess humanitarian needs, engage with refugee communities, and monitor the implementation of LRC protection, education, and community support activities.
